First Place!!
I loVe Fall!
I love fall! Back to school, cooler weather, soccer and football. This is the first year Zach hasn't played soccer. He's loving football. He is the kicker, tight end, and also safety on defense. He's doing a great job.
Ashley is having fun with cheerleading. Her team is so cute to watch. They'll be doing competitions soon. Ashley is even starting to learn a little about football. I told her a good cheerleader knows the game and knows what to cheer for! Ashley finally agreed to play basketball this year, only because her best friend is playing. I'm excited for that.
Ryan has had a tough soccer season because he got injured several weeks ago. He has a strained calf muscle, which doesn't sound like much, but he can't run on it. He's been going to the trainer every day instead of practice, and is hoping to be able to play soon. Ryan is loving middle school and all the parties and activities that come along with it.
We also celebrated Chris's 40th birthday this year. He can't believe he's 40 already!! It'll my turn in just a few years.

Champions
We spent the weekend at a soccer tournament for both Ryan and Zachary. Zach's team
took first, which was the perfect way to end the year, since Chris won't be coaching them again. It was a great way to end their season. When Chris started coaching them 3 yrs ago, they lost every game but 1 during their first season. They had over 50 goals against them, and only 3 goals for them. Not good. They were so defeated, literally. But they kept working hard, and didn't give up. They learned alot, improved alot. Chris never emphasizes winning, but of course the boys want to win. And win they have, ever since that first year. They've done amazing. We've gotten very close to the boys and their families, so it was a bittersweet game today. It was their last game together, since several boys including Zach are trying out football next year, and Chris won't be coaching. The parents threw a party for Chris after the game, and they really showed their appreciation and love for Chris. He's done a great job with them and has loved every minute of it. As Chris said, they were already champions whether they won or not, because they all have a heart of a champion.
